Visiting GMT +8 through GMT +12, or ”Around the world in 20 days”

Between September 20 and October 8, our CEO Per Lundahl made a trip to the other side of the globe to visit. This is his very short report in text and pictures from the trip:

“The purpose of my trip was to improve the understanding of the different markets in the above time zones, and to understand how we can be a better partner to our distributors and customers.

My first stop was Wellington, New Zealand (Middle-Earth for fans of Tolkien) where I met with Tim Farrant of Buzz Audio. Wellington seems to be a very beautiful city, but I must admit I did not see much through the mist.

I spent four days in Sydney and surroundings with Rick Dowell and Peter Orehov from CDA Pro Audio (you have some really excellent wines in Australia!). In Sydney I also had a meeting with the magazine Silicon Chip. Silicon Chip (www.siliconchip.com.au) plan to publish a page review on Lundahl transformers in the November issue.

In Shenzhen I met with Linda Huang and Huang Zhi Ling from Shenzhen An Sheng Audio Company, to find out how to increase our sales to the Chinese DIY market. And I and stayed one night at the 86 floor of a 100 floor hotel. What a view!!!

At Hiroshi Technology Limited in Hong Kong I had a long meeting with Joseph C Lee, and learned a lot about the pro audio business in Hong Kong and China. I also celebrated China National Day and experienced more rain. Horizontal rain!!!

The last stop on my trip was Tokyo, where Mr. Masao Kusanagi and his staff at Amtrans Corporation showed great hospitality. We discussed transformers, had a short listening session (no, I am NOT an audiophile, but I enjoy good music) followed by a nice sightseeing tour of Tokyo.

The day before my return flight to Sweden I visited Mr. Shinobu Karaki and his company Aurorasound in Yokohama, about one hour drive from Tokyo. We discussed heat dissipation in tube output transformers and listened to his new amplifier. In the afternoon we met with MJ (http://www.seibundo-shinkosha.net/mj/), an almost 100 year old Japanese audio magazine, where I made a presentation of our company and the philosophies behind our products.

On the evening the day after, I walked on my beloved Swedish soil again. As I had travelled west when I flew from Stockholm to Auckland, I had finished one full circle around our globe. Much more convenient than for poor Mr. Fogg who had to travel by train and boat…”
